Forget sitting at an office desk all day. Being a pharmacy technician involves interacting with members of the public of all ages, and assisting the pharmacist in medication safety. You also have a variety of workplaces to choose from. Don’t want to work in a pharmacy? You can work in hospitals, in laboratories, and even military bases.

It’s an extremely stable job

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for Pharmacy Technicians is projected to increase by 4% over 10 years. 

Given that there are drug stores everywhere from small provincial towns to large cities, it also gives you the flexibility to move wherever you like and still find employment opportunities. Pharmacy technicians are awarded national certification, meaning that you won’t have to retrain if you choose to relocate to a different state. 

Good salary

Given the low entry-level requirements, Pharmacy Technicians are relatively well compensated for their responsibilities and the work they do. There are also frameworks in place for you to advance your career. In 2019 the average annual salary for a Pharmacy Technician was $33,950, but that figure increases with formal training and experience.
